Privacy

The short version: we collect as little as we can get away with, we do not sell anything about you, and you can have it all deleted by asking.

What we hold about members

• Your email address, which is how you sign in.
• Which buddies' contact details you have looked at, so we can ask how it went and so we can tell whether a buddy is actually replying to people.
• Whether your membership is active.
• A report, review, or story you choose to submit, together with its permission record.

Health information

We do not ask for or store information about your health, medications, weight, injuries, or medical history. If you choose to tell a buddy or trainer something during a direct conversation, that conversation is between the two of you and is not collected by Exercise Buddy Finder.

Please do not include health or medication details in suggestion, report, or story forms. If somebody sends that information unexpectedly, we remove it when we find it.

What we hold about buddies

Their profile, their introduction video, their contact details, their certification where they have one, and how quickly they reply. We do not ask about, record, or care about anybody's immigration status or right to work.

Provider applications

If you apply to be listed, we keep the information in your application, including your introduction-video link and any certification details. An application is not a public profile. Ask us to delete it and we will.

After your application is received, we offer a link to schedule a 15-minute call with Annette through Calendly. If you choose the link, your name and email address are included in the Calendly booking link so you do not have to type them again. Calendly then handles the appointment under its own privacy terms. You can contact Annette directly instead if you do not want to use Calendly.

Matching requests

If you ask us to tell you when a suitable person joins, we keep your email and the non-health choices you provide: buddy or trainer, activity, preferred time, time zone, maximum rate, encouragement style, and video app. We do not ask for health information. Ask us to remove the request at any time.

Provider identity checks

Before publishing a real provider, Annette privately matches a government photo ID to the person on a live video call. We keep the check date, a description of the method, and a private audit reference. We do not retain an image of the document or its ID number. The public profile shows only that the identity was checked and the date.

Contact details

A buddy's contact details are never sent to your browser unless you are signed in and your membership is active. They are not hidden with styling, they are simply not sent. That means a search engine cannot read them and neither can anyone who has not joined.

What we do not do

• We do not sell or rent your details to anybody, ever.
• We do not run advertising trackers.
• We do not record your sessions. We are not in them.

Simple, private measurement

We use a random identifier stored by your browser to count a few steps: visiting the homepage, browsing the directory, signing up, viewing contact details, and telling us a session happened. It is first-party measurement, not an advertising tracker. We do not record what you read, build a profile of your interests, or send this information to an analytics company. When you are signed in, later steps are linked to your account and, for contact or session steps, to the person you chose. That lets us ask whether an introduction worked and see where people need help. Funnel events are deleted after 13 months.

If a major AI answer service sends you to the site, we store only its broad name, the public page you arrived on, the same random browser identifier, and the date. We do not store the full referring URL, your prompt, your search query, or anything you told that service. This lets us count whether tools such as ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, Claude, or Copilot help people discover the directory.

Deleting everything

Ask, and we delete your account and everything attached to it. Use the suggestion button on any page, or email [email protected].

Testimonials

A submitted story stays private until Annette reviews it and you have explicitly agreed to publication. Your words and your photo are two separate permissions, and you can give one without the other. Change your mind and it comes down the same day.

Public reviews

A member can submit a review only after signing in and viewing that person's contact details. We keep the member's email privately so we can investigate abuse, but publish only the name, rating, words, and review date they agreed to show. Reviews are checked before publication and can be updated or removed by asking Annette.
