Provider Standards

Every person listed here agrees to these standards. They protect clients, providers, and the difference between friendly company and professional fitness instruction.

Use the role shown on your profile

An exercise buddy exercises alongside a client, keeps them company, counts repetitions or intervals, and offers encouragement. A buddy does not design a workout, choose weights, correct technique, or present themselves as a trainer.

A verified fitness trainer may give exercise guidance within the scope of the credential Exercise Buddy Finder has checked. Never claim a credential, specialty, or level of expertise that has not been verified and shown on your profile.

Stay out of medical care

  • Never diagnose, interpret symptoms, treat an injury, or promise a medical result.
  • Never advise on medication, doses, timing, side effects, or whether someone should stop taking medicine.
  • Do not ask clients to send medical records or detailed health information.
  • When a health question comes up, say: “That is a question for your healthcare professional.”
  • If anything hurts, stop the activity.

Know when to end a session

If a client reports chest pain, sudden breathlessness, dizziness that does not pass, confusion, numbness, a fall, or feeling seriously unwell, end the session. Tell them to contact the emergency service or healthcare professional appropriate for their location. A person on a video call cannot provide emergency help in the room. Tell Annette the same day.

Be clear about money

  • Agree on the session length, price, currency, cancellation terms, and payment method before the session.
  • Charge only the amount the two of you agreed.
  • Never ask for banking passwords, card PINs, login codes, financial documents, loans, gifts, or investments.
  • Never ask a client to receive or forward money for someone else.
  • Exercise Buddy Finder does not collect session payments or settle payment disputes.

Protect privacy and boundaries

  • Do not record, photograph, or screenshot a session unless both people clearly agree beforehand.
  • Do not share a client's contact details, messages, image, or story with anybody else.
  • No sexual remarks, romantic pressure, harassment, threats, discrimination, or humiliating language.
  • Keep communication related to the agreed exercise relationship.

Be reliable

Reply promptly, arrive when agreed, and give reasonable notice when plans change. Mark yourself available now only while you are genuinely ready to receive messages. Never promise a particular number of sessions, result, weight, size, or timeline.

What happens when a standard is broken

Safety and serious conduct reports may lead to immediate temporary suspension while Annette reviews what happened. Less serious problems may lead to a warning and a required review of these standards. Fraud, harassment, medical advice, serious deception, or a repeated boundary violation can end a listing permanently.
